Looking for technical support?
These are the components necessary to provide full customer service. In our line of work, customers need more than just a price, more than just some instructions on how to fix something. What our customers need is a company they can trust to provide them with quality parts, fast delivery and good pricing. Someone who can provide answers to their questions and a level of service that will actually resolve problems, whether it be over the phone, via e-mail, or an on-site service call.
Put all that together, and you have CNC Technical Services. Founded in 2003 as a field-service organization, we have grown over the past 16 years into one of the premier independent service and parts providers in the CNC machining industry. We now provide technical support, parts sales and on-site service for all the major brands of controls and machine tools for hundreds of customers.
Our vast knowledge of CNC machinery gives us the ability to answer your questions and get you up and running. Our customers have come to expect this level of service from us and it is exactly that commitment to helping our customer that will propel us moving forward into the future.
OKUMA SpecialistsWe have built an extensive amount of inventory for exchange and outright purchase of Okuma servo and spindle drives, I/O boards, power supplies, control boards, encoders, motors, USB & LCD retrofits, and fiber optic cables – all the items that you need when you need them most, without the sticker shock. Give us a call today to find out how much we can save you and help you keep your quality Okuma machine running for years to come.
Okuma mills and lathes have always been at the forefront of the machining industry in terms of technology and quality. Many of our customers have Okuma machines that have been running for many years, doing a great job of machining quality parts within geometric tolerance and finish. However, when something goes wrong with a servo drive, spindle drive, or control board, it costs a small fortune to get a replacement unit or a repair of their existing unit. Worse yet, you may end up having to purchase an upgrade unit, which is an even more expensive proposition. The only alternative up to this point has been to buy something online without really knowing what you’re getting, usually with a minimal warranty (if any warranty at all).
We provide a better solution – quality exchange units and repairs with full warranties at a very reasonable price. Through years of experience with Okuma equipment and our vast understanding of the Okuma controls and electrical systems, we have developed extensive test equipment and simulators to allow us to effectively diagnose, repair and test your Okuma control boards and drives. We don’t simply replace a bad component; we start by thoroughly cleaning each unit and performing initial testing to verify the problem, then repair it and perform any necessary updates before re-assembly. After assembly is complete, the unit goes through exhaustive final testing in one of our simulators before being put in inventory or sent back to you as a repaired unit.
DON’T BE FOOLED BY OTHER “REPAIR HOUSES” THAT SIMPLY BENCH TEST COMPONENTS AND THEN DO A STANDARD BENCH TESTING OF THE UNIT AFTER IT HAS BEEN “REPAIRED”. We install our drives and boards on CNC simulators that were built from actual Okuma CNC machines using Okuma controls and motors, to provide the most accurate simulation of the field application.

Fanuc has been a world leader in CNC control for many years. CNC Technical Services provides quality exchange units and repairs with full (1) year warranties for a very reasonable price. Through years of field service experience and working with OEMs directly, we not only have the expertise to repair your defective unit, but we can also provide the tech support you need when you need it – from the initial troubleshooting of your problem, to making sure you get the right parts, to providing support long after the sale.

There’s an old saying: “Good, Fast, Cheap - pick two”. Well, at CNC Technical Services we believe you should expect all three. In today’s world, if you are in the business of servicing CNC equipment, customer service is measured by the quality of your work, the cost of the job and how fast you can get the machine back into production. When all these are considered, you will find the clear choice for customer service and satisfaction is CNC Technical Services.
DOWN MACHINE REPAIR
When your machine is down, you’re losing money. We understand this, so the need to get the machine up and running as soon as possible, combined with our commitment to doing the job right the first time is our utmost concern. Our labor and travel rates are amongst the lowest in the industry, and if service parts are needed on your job, our supply of in-stock parts and supplier inventories allows us to offer the lowest prices on replacement parts with ultra-fast deliveries. For customers with the highest demands, we offer extended hours of operation, weekend service and on-call contracts. We service all the major brands including:
- MORI SEIKI
We have full support for Fanuc, Yaskawa (Yasnac), Okuma and Mitsubishi controls, servo/spindle drives and power supplies. Click HERE for information on our repair/exchange programs for these components.
At CNC Technical Services, we firmly believe that a preventative maintenance program is the single most important step you can take to reduce down machine service calls. We have an extensive preventative maintenance program that has been implemented at many of our customers’ shops; in each case, the number of service calls for down machines decreased after the first year of performing PMs and decreased significantly after the second year.
Our exhaustive checklist covers all aspects of your machine’s current condition, and our technicians are trained to inspect your machine with the utmost attention to detail. After completion, you will have an accurate bill of health of your machine with a recommendations list for anything we feel needs additional attention. And don’t let cost deter you…we now offer a lower, flat rate plan that makes it almost impossible to justify the lack of a PM program. In fact, in most cases, our PM program equates to about 1% of the cost of the machine on an annual basis, which is below the industry standard**. We also offer additional savings through our budget payment plan, which combines an additional 10% discount on your entire PM program while offering convenient monthly payments, making it easier for you to manage your PM budget. Give us a call today to find out just how affordable the benefits of a preventative maintenance program can be for you.
Click HERE to see our PM checklists.
Estimates for most preventative maintenance programs are an annual expense of 2-3% of the original or replacement cost of the machine.
Here at CNC Technical Services, we have always prided ourselves in being able to provide technical support to our customers via email and over the phone. More often than not, we’ve been able to work with you to solve a problem or provide assistance without having to make a service call to your facility. This service has aided our customers in getting their equipment up and running quicker, without the expense of a service call.
As we have grown, we have done our best to continue to provide such support. However, with the addition of so many customers, we’ve had to adapt to the increasing demand for technical support. To address this increased demand, we have created our new Technical Support Programs (TSP and TSP+). With these new programs, we are providing the customer with another option to choose from when deciding what level of service best fits their needs and budget.
What is the Technical Support Program?
The Technical Support Program is an enhanced level of customer support that offers many benefits. Customers will have access to data through our Website Technical Library (WTL); they will receive enhanced technical support and documentation via email; and they will benefit from priority service, whether it involves an email/phone response or a scheduled service call. In order to facilitate this level of service, we have had to expend a vast amount of resources compiling our manuals, technical reference documents, and service reports into our database to facilitate access to critical information in a timely manner. We currently have more than half a terabyte worth of data that we can utilize to provide answers to your technical questions and machine service issues. All this data will allow us to provide solutions quickly by not only sharing this data via email or over the phone, but also by posting certain documentation on our website for easy access. This will give a greater level of support to our customers not just during normal business hours, but also during after-hours and weekends.
Click HERE to see our brochure that outlines the different levels of service support that we now offer. Take a moment to look it over and if you have any questions regarding the program, please do not hesitate to contact us. We truly believe adding this level of support will allow us to provide the most efficient level of service, while giving our customers the option to choose what level best suits their needs.
If you are interested in signing up for our TSP program, please contact us today to get started. As always, we thank you for your business and look forward to helping you with your service, parts and technical support needs in the future.
